ANALYSIS |

The Travel
Analysis is a tool that can be used to gain valuable
insight into the most efficient and effective manner in which to
move people and/or equipment from one location to another. For a
corporate entity, the goal of performing an analysis is to identify
efficient modes of travel that are best suited to the company's
mission. Specific recommendations are made concerning how a company
can take advantage of the identified modes of travel.
The analysis
is comprised of three parts:
· Part 1 - Information Gathering
· Part 2 - Analysis/Comparison
· Part 3 - Recommendations
Part 1 - Information Gathering
Information gathering begins with a work sheet.
This sheet can be filled out on-line or downloaded and faxed to
a Heartland representative. All information collected is considered
confidential and is treated with great care. Once received, a
Heartland representative reviews the information in preparation
for a brief telephone interview. In some cases, it may be desirable
to follow up the telephone interview with an "in person"
visit. This typically concludes the information gathering process.
Part 2 - Analysis/Comparison
Collected information is analyzed in order to
determine patterns concerning frequency, departure/destination
location, and passenger/cargo loads. The results are applied to
several modes of transportation including airline, air charter,
aircraft fractional ownership, rail, bus, tractor-trailer, and
automobile. Once completed, this information is used to compare
various modes of transportation in an attempt to order the modes
in relation to efficiency, effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.
Part 3 - Recommendations
Recommendations are generated after a review
of the Analysis/Comparison results. When generating recommendations,
particular attention is paid to bias. Every attempt is made at
presenting unbiased recommendations. In addition, recommendations
are made to be as specific as possible so that potential benefits
can be more easily realized.
